5 Fav Nashville Restaurants

If you know Jake and I at all, you know we enjoy going out to dinner - haha. We have worked on reeling it in over the last year, but you know, it’s fun. :) Rest assured, when I give you food recommendations, they will be worth your time and money. Jake and I don’t play when it comes to flavor. In no particular order, just some of our faves.

  1. Sho Pizza - Neo-Neapolitan pizza. We love this spot. It was created by our favorite chef, Sean Brock. Sho Pizza is wonderful because they use local ingredients, everything is fresh, flavors are off the chain, and the intentionality in every beat of this restaurant is absolutely incredible. Their flour and cheeses are both imported from Italy and they ferment their dough for 72 hours to make sure it’s highly digestible. Our go-to order is the caesar salad, salumi pizza, supermarg pizza with extra buffalo mozz, a couple sides of miso ranch, and the matcha tiramisu!

  2. Dreamburger - Best burger in town. Hands down. This smash burger is a total flavor bomb going off in your mouth. It’s the delicious combo of the perfectly shaved sweet onions grilled into the burger, the dill pickles, and that dang dreamsauce for me. And that butter toasted bun is fire. Our order is the dreamburger with fries and an extra side of dreamsauce. :)

  3. Maiz de La Vida - Every detail in this restaurant is absolutely beautiful - take it in! Chef Julio Hernandez imports organic heirloom corn from Mexico that has been preserved and passed down for generations. Every tortilla is made in house! Our favorite items on the lunch menu are the quesabirria and the enchiladas suizas. For the dinner menu we love the elote, mole negro, and the carne asada! Don’t forget the crema catalana and the concha cream puff for dessert!

  4. Penne Pazze - Authentic Italian with the best lasagna I have ever tasted in my life. The flavor is incredible. Jake and I can’t get enough of it. Their unique oval shaped pinsas are also amazing. Our favorite is the pinsa pazza, which has pizza sauce, pesto, mozzarella, and burrata. Holy cow. Their vanilla pana cotta is so good too! I really appreciate that they use fresh, wholesome ingredients that are sourced locally. And they don’t use preservatives or seed oils.

  5. Kisser - This Japanese restaurant’s chicken curry rice is amazing! I also love their chicken katsu sandwich and the chopped salad with the carrot ginger dressing. Kisser has limited hours and there’s always a wait, which should tell you exactly just how good it is. Brian Lea and Leina Horii (husband and wife), who started Kisser, knew exactly what they were doing. And their sister restaurant in Germantown, Baby Chan, is just as good.
